About
Bio
I am a mostly self taught artist with some formal education. I attended the Art institue of Pittsburgh in 1985-1987 for Visual Communications. Commercial Art just wasn't what I was looking for. I continued drawing for my own pleasure until 2003 when I began doing portraiture for a local restaurant. Very simple drawings compared to what I do now. I didn't make any real progress in realism or naturalist drawing until I was able to go online to all the wonderful art sites.
I love the challenge of graphite work that is why I work almost exclusively in graphite. I continue to learn new techniques and strive to improve my art.
Last year I stepped out in faith and began entering my work into local exhibits and now I am fortunate to be an award winning artist. I'm taking a new direction with my art and hope to one day exhibit my work professionally.
